Credo Reference travels to Asia
Jackie LaPlaca, Product Evangelist, and Michael Sweet, CEO, both of Credo Reference, have been on an incredible tour of five countries in Asia. Jackie shared some pictures and notes from their travels.
Credo Reference traveled to Hong Kong to work with the JULAC consortium and other innovative universities, such as the Open University of Hong Kong. This picture shows the OUHK and its indoor/outdoor multi-story building. Fits in well with the amazing HK skyline!

Credo also traveled to Singapore to work with customers such as the National Library Board of Singapore and universities like NUS and NTU. Nanyang Technical University’s new art building is shown in the picture. Students sunbathe and play golf on the unique grass rooftop.

We spent a few days in Bangkok working with our Asia agents on our 2011 offerings—Credo General Reference and Credo Publisher Collections. Of course we also enjoyed lots of Thai food, such as this excellent Tom Yum Soup.
Our subscribers in Malaysia have doubled throughout 2010, so we travelled to work new university partners in Kuala Lumpur. A Hindu festival, Thaipusam, was celebrated during our visit and we climbed 272 steps to caves to visit Lord Murugan.
The last country on our January Asia trip is Brunei, where all institutions use Credo Reference. Here is a picture of Brunei’s largest mosque — Jame Asr Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque — which was a gift from the sultan to the people of Brunei.
Thanks for sharing these amazing photos, Jackie. Safe travels!
