Conde Nast to close Gourmet magazine
I am so sad. Gourmet is one of my favorite magazines and I just read that Conde Nast has decided to no longer publish it! Also being closed are Cookie, Elegant Bride, and Modern Bride. Reportedly, Gourmet will continue its book publishing and television programming as well as putting recipes on Epicurious.com. Apparently the reason for the closing is the loss of ad sales. I have to agree with an anonymous comment on the website — “Gourmet Magazine is a national treasure – first published in 1941. Killing it is almost like killing National Geographic.” http://www.foliomag.com/2009/cond-nast-shutters-four-magazines
